Your financial information belongs to you. Quid does not operate a cloud service, does not require account creation, does not track users, and does not collect or store your financial information on developer-controlled servers.
This Privacy Policy explains what information Quid stores, how it is used, and your rights regarding your data.
Data Stored on Your Device
Quid stores information that you choose to enter into the app, including accounts and balances, transactions, categories, budgets, bills and recurring payments, financial goals, debt information, investment holdings, notes and settings, and an optional display name or nickname.
This information is stored locally on your device.
We do not receive, view, access, or store this information on our servers.
Tax Documents
If you choose to upload tax-related documents such as payslips, P60s, or P45s, those documents are stored locally on your device.
Documents are not transmitted to the developer, are not used for advertising or marketing, and may be protected using Face ID or Touch ID where available.
Artificial Intelligence Features
Quid includes optional AI-powered features that provide financial summaries, categorisation assistance, spending insights, budgeting suggestions, debt analysis, and tax-document summaries.
These AI features use Apple's on-device Foundation Models and Apple Intelligence technologies where available.
Financial information processed by these features remains on your device and is not sent to the developer.
Quid does not use OpenAI, Anthropic, or any third-party cloud AI provider.
Face ID and Touch ID
Quid may use Face ID or Touch ID to protect access to the application and certain sensitive areas of the app.
Biometric information is managed entirely by iOS.
Quid never receives, stores, or has access to your biometric data.
iCloud Backups
If enabled, Quid may store backup files in your personal iCloud account using Apple's iCloud services.
These backups are stored within your own iCloud account and are governed by Apple's terms and privacy policies.
The developer cannot access your iCloud backups.
Investment Price Data
If you use Quid's investment tracking features, the app may request market-price information from Yahoo Finance.
When this occurs, the investment ticker symbol may be transmitted to Yahoo Finance, and your device's IP address may be visible to Yahoo Finance as part of normal internet communication.
No transaction history, account balances, debt information, tax documents, or personal identity information is transmitted.
Waitlist and Beta Feedback
If you join the Quid waitlist or submit beta feedback, we may collect your name, email address, tester ID, device model, iOS version, app version, feedback category, severity rating, message content, submission time, and basic technical/security information needed to protect the form from spam or abuse.
We use this information to manage beta access, contact users about Quid, review feedback, investigate bugs, improve usability, respond to privacy concerns, and prepare Quid for launch.
Please do not include bank details, account numbers, passwords, card details, or sensitive financial information in beta feedback forms.
Our lawful basis for waitlist sign-ups is consent, because you choose to provide your details so we can contact you about Quid. Our lawful basis for beta feedback is our legitimate interest in testing, improving, securing, and preparing Quid for launch, and/or your consent where you voluntarily choose to submit feedback.
We may use trusted third-party service providers to process form submissions, protect forms from spam or abuse, and store responses. These providers process information only for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
We keep waitlist and beta feedback information only for as long as needed for beta testing, product development, launch communications, support, security, or legal compliance. You can ask us to remove your waitlist or beta feedback information by contacting us at privacy@quidapp.uk.
Analytics, Advertising, and Tracking
Quid does not use advertising SDKs, analytics platforms, user tracking technologies, data brokers, behavioural advertising systems, or third-party marketing tools.
Quid does not track your activity across apps, websites, or services.
Information We Do Not Collect
Quid does not collect or store email addresses, phone numbers, contact lists, precise location data, health information, social media information, advertising identifiers, or government-issued identification numbers unless you voluntarily include such information within documents or notes you choose to store locally in the app.
Data Retention
Your information remains on your device until you choose to delete it.
You may remove individual records, documents, or all app data at any time using the tools provided by your device or by uninstalling the application.
Children's Privacy
Quid is not directed toward children under the age of 13.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
When changes are made, the updated version will be published with a revised "Last Updated" date.
