Privacy Policy

In Short

The Quid app collects nothing. It has no user accounts, no bank connections and no Quid servers. Its App Store privacy label reads Data Not Collected in all fourteen categories. The single exception is described under the one outbound request. This website collects nothing either: it runs no forms, no analytics and no third-party scripts.

Who Is Responsible

Quid is built and operated by Stefan Veleski, a sole trader in the United Kingdom, trading as Quid. For the small amount of personal data this site has ever held, that is the data controller under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

The Quid iOS App

The Quid iOS app does not require an account. It does not collect your name, email address, bank details, account numbers, transactions, budgets, debts, income, expenses, tax information or financial entries.

Quid does not transmit financial data to Quid servers, does not sell or share app data, does not use third-party bank sync, and does not operate a Quid-controlled database of any kind.

Information you choose to enter into the app — accounts and balances, transactions, categories, budgets, bills and recurring payments, financial goals, debt information, investment holdings, notes, settings, and any optional display name or nickname — is stored locally on your device.

The app contains no third-party SDKs. No advertising library, no analytics library, no crash-reporting library and no attribution framework is linked into it.

Tax Documents

If you use the UK tax features and upload tax-related documents such as payslips, P60s or P45s, those documents are stored locally on your device.

They are not transmitted to the developer, are not used for advertising or marketing, and can be protected behind Face ID or Touch ID where your device supports it.

AI Features

Quid includes optional AI features that provide financial summaries, categorisation assistance, spending insights, budgeting suggestions, debt analysis and tax-document summaries.

These use Apple's on-device Foundation Models and Apple Intelligence. Your figures are processed on the iPhone itself. No prompt, no financial figure and no document is sent to Quid or to any third-party AI provider. Quid does not use OpenAI, Anthropic, Google or any other cloud AI service.

Apple Intelligence itself is controlled by Apple and your device settings, and is governed by Apple's own privacy policy.

Face ID and Touch ID

Quid can use Face ID or Touch ID to protect the app and the tax document vault. Biometric data is managed entirely by iOS. Quid never receives, stores or has access to it — the app is only told whether authentication succeeded.

Device Backups

Quid does not operate a backup service and does not sync between devices. If you have iPhone backups switched on, Quid's data may be included in your device's ordinary encrypted backup, held in your own Apple Account or on your own computer.

Those backups are governed by Apple's terms and your device settings. The developer cannot access them.

The One Outbound Request

If you use investment tracking, Quid requests current market prices from Yahoo Finance. The ticker symbols you have added are sent, and your device's IP address is visible to Yahoo Finance as part of ordinary internet communication.

No transaction history, holdings, quantities, account balances, debt information, tax documents or identity information is transmitted. If you do not use investment tracking, this request is never made.

This is the only outbound network request the app makes, and it is stated here and on the home page so you do not have to discover it yourself.

This Website

quidapp.uk is a static site. As of 12 September 2026 it contains no forms, no analytics, no advertising, no cookies set by us, no tracking pixels and no third-party scripts. The only external requests a page makes are to Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com) to load the two typefaces the site is set in; Google may log your IP address and user agent as part of serving those files, under Google's own privacy policy.

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. As with any hosting provider, Cloudflare processes basic server logs — such as IP address, timestamp, requested URL and user agent — to deliver pages and protect the service against abuse. We do not use those logs to build a profile of you and do not combine them with anything else.

Data Collected Before Launch

Before Quid 1.0 was released, this website ran a beta waitlist form and a beta feedback form. These submitted to a Cloudflare Worker and stored entries in a Cloudflare database, protected by Cloudflare Turnstile. Those forms collected a name, email address, device model, iOS version, app version, feedback category, severity, message content and submission time.

Both forms have been retired and removed from the site. No new data is being collected. Data submitted through them is retained only while it is still needed to answer outstanding correspondence and to meet legal record-keeping obligations, and is deleted after that. You may ask for your entry to be erased at any time by emailing privacy@quidapp.uk, and it will be deleted without question.

The lawful basis for the waitlist was your consent. The lawful basis for beta feedback was legitimate interests — testing and improving the app before release — and, where you volunteered it, your consent.

Your UK GDPR Rights

Where we hold personal data about you — in practice, only a legacy waitlist or beta feedback entry described above — you have the following rights under the UK GDPR:

Access. You can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, and for information about how it is used.
Rectification. You can ask us to correct personal data that is inaccurate, or to complete data that is incomplete.
Erasure. You can ask us to delete your personal data. For the data described above there is no reason we would refuse.
Portability. You can ask for the personal data you gave us in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format, or ask us to send it to someone else where that is technically feasible.
Objection. You can object to processing carried out on the basis of legitimate interests, including any use of your details to contact you about Quid.
Restriction. You can ask us to limit how we use your personal data while a query about it is resolved.
Withdraw consent. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. This does not affect anything done before you withdrew it.

To exercise any of these, email privacy@quidapp.uk. We will respond within one month and there is no charge. We may ask you to confirm the email address you originally used, so that we do not disclose someone else's data to you.

Note that we cannot act on a request about data held inside the app on your iPhone, because we have never had it and cannot reach it. You can delete that data yourself at any time from within Quid, or by deleting the app.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK supervisory authority, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to address it first.

International Transfers

Quid is operated from the United Kingdom, and any personal data we hold is controlled from the UK.

Some of the service providers involved in delivering this website operate globally, so data may be processed on servers outside the UK:

Cloudflare hosts this website and serves it from a global network, which means pages may be served from, and server logs processed in, a country outside the UK.
Google Fonts serves the two typefaces used on this site, and requests may be handled outside the UK.
Apple distributes the app and processes purchases and refunds under its own terms and international arrangements.

Where personal data is transferred outside the UK, it is protected by an appropriate safeguard recognised under UK data protection law — a UK adequacy decision for the destination country, or the International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. You can ask us for details of the safeguard that applies to a particular transfer.

The app itself transfers nothing internationally except the investment price request described above, which sends only a ticker symbol.

Retention

Data you enter in the app stays on your device until you delete it — by removing individual records in Quid, clearing app data, or uninstalling the app. We hold none of it and so retain none of it.

Legacy waitlist and beta feedback entries are retained only while needed for outstanding correspondence, security and legal compliance, and are deleted after that, or immediately on request. Hosting logs are retained by Cloudflare under their standard, short retention periods.

Analytics, Advertising and Tracking

Neither the Quid app nor this website uses advertising SDKs, analytics platforms, tracking technologies, data brokers, behavioural advertising systems, or third-party marketing tools. Quid does not track your activity across apps, websites or services, and does not ask for permission to, because it has no use for it.

Children's Privacy

Quid is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. When we do, the revised version is published here with a new "last updated" date. Material changes affecting personal data we hold will also be sent to the email address we hold, where we have one.
